Cairns City Sheridan Motel, Cairns

The hotel room was much smaller than advertised with uncomfortable beds and pillows, along with a shower head spitting high-pressure water everywhere, leaving the bathroom hot, wet, and with a terrible smell. The early morning noise from banging doors and abrupt staff made our stay inconvenient. The bar lacked stock, resembling an old storage room more than a dining area. Definitely not a place to recommend.

The hotel was facing the main road and quite noisy on a Friday night. The rooms were very dirty on entry, with smudges in mirrors, a smell in the toilet, and even finding a previous guest's jacket in the closet. The service was reasonably quiet, with a nice pool for a quick dip, but there were issues with repairs and lack of attention from some staff members. The location was right where we needed to be, though a bit out of the way for downtown areas. The dining experience was ordinary, impacted by staffing problems. Despite these issues, the hotel was easily accessible at all times.

The hotel is conveniently located close to Cairns Central but lacks varied dining options and needs urgent maintenance. The staff is inconsistent in service quality. Despite the proximity to the airport, the cleanliness of the hotel is questionable.
