The hotel room was a bit of a mixed bag. While the AC worked great and kept the room nice and cold, there was a strong smell of smoke that lingered. The room was functional and clean overall, but the partially clogged wash basin made it practically unusable during our 5-night stay. Safety was a concern as well.

The service was a bit of a mixed experience. While the staff were friendly, understanding, and nice, they were sometimes too busy to assist promptly. Room service was good, but there was a hiccup with getting an extra key at night.

The area where the hotel is located is a bit of a mix. It's an 'up and coming' neighborhood with some funky new commercial establishments, but it also has a run-down, poorer side. It wasn't as close to the convention center as I would have preferred, and safety concerns made us cautious during the evenings.

The rooms were functional and clean, but there was a funky smell in one of them and the wash basin was partially clogged. Being one block from the homeless Tent City was a downside, but overall, it was a satisfactory stay with great convenience for exploring the nearby attractions.

When we first entered the rooms, there was a noticeable smell of pot, but surprisingly, the space was quite generous despite needing some updating. The price seemed fair considering I've stayed at hotels three times the price before.

The service was dedicated and very helpful, even offering to drive me to the nearby Hilton to fetch my power supply. They charged only a $20 cash deposit due to a lack of change, which was highly appreciated.

The location, though labeled as 'Downtown San Diego', was not the best due to lots of homeless people around and loud noises from the nearby freeway making it difficult to sleep at night. However, it's fairly close to downtown and offers value for money considering the price.
